My "Street" Kid From Last Year....
All he did to me was call me a bitch, tell me "fuck you" and hit me....
This year-
he started a fire in the lunchroom
brought in pornographic pictures
pissed all over the boys' bathroom
and
brought a bottle of booze to school
all in the first 70 days of school.
Think this kid has any chance of success? Sad case- breaks my heart

My school gave T a scare yesterday...
I left for work around 7am to teach the morning music program. I have been doing this Monday-Friday from 7:30-8:30am every morning since the middle of October. I teach the program with another gentleman who has been doing it for 15 years and is retiring this year. My hope was to take over the program after he leaves to really teach these kids music (right now it's a little more like karyoke than real music education).
I arrived to school around 7:20am, moved my time card to "in", picked up my attendance, said good morning to those in the office (including my old assistant principal), and worked with the students like any other morning.
At 8:45am, the school secretary called Theo at home wondering where I was. She informed him I never showed up for work. Of course T freaked out. He informed her I left at 7am and should have been there to teach the morning music program. The school secretary told him there was no morning program. After going around and around with T, the secretary finally called him back around 9:15am to tell him I was "found" at school and not to worry. T cursed at her a little and ran her down with some choice words.
Of course they "found" me- I was in my fucking classroom. I was teaching my third graders and already starting on the day's shared reading. After being paged over the loudspeaker by the irate-sounding principal, I called to reinforce I was REALLY at school doing my job. When I asked why I was presumed missing, no one knew.
